April Event: Color a Smile with the Region 8 GYC
Join Region 8 GY on Saturday, April 27th at 9am PT/10am MT where we will gather online to color, chat, and send colored pages to senior citizens, kids, our troops overseas and anyone in need of a smile through an organization called Color a Smile. The hours you spend coloring can count toward the Mensa Honor Society too!
To participate:
- Register for the Zoom meeting
- The week of the event, I’ll send an email to all registrants with more information along with links to a selection of pages to print out to color.
- Attend the meeting to color and have fun with us! If you can’t stay the entire time and would like to complete the coloring on your own time, that’s okay too.
- We will mail our cheerful drawings to the organization who will mail your masterpieces to those who need a smile.
Color a Smile will validate 10 minutes of volunteer work for each complete drawing that you send us: 1 drawing is 10 minutes of volunteer time, 6 drawings = 60 minutes, etc.
PARENTS:
All gifted youth must have a parent or guardian present to oversee participation or at least check-in and say “hello” at the beginning of the meeting.
CODE OF CONDUCT:
Be kind and respectful. Anyone displaying inappropriate behavior will be immediately removed from the event.
